In a few more hours, I'll be entering my first post, to the Eschatology, End Times discussions.
I hope many will read and add because, with these being the last days, we need to understand what's happening and will soon happen.
Well, "A few hours," came and went....Here goes -

The first thing, I'd like to discuss is found in the third verse of the first chapter: "Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and heed the things which are written in it."

A few years back, a Deaf lady, whom I'd met, while she was working at McDonalds, told me she was living with her boyfriend.
When I attempted to explain to her that this wasn't God's way, she replied, "You're wrong. Everybody does it."
While it's true that most people are doing that, it's not true that we, Christians, are wrong to oppose it.
This same idea pops into my mind, when I sit in a church (regardless of denomination) and listen to denominational doctrine, where many of the words of the prophecy have been changed, simply because somewhere, at some time, someone decided he or she knew more than the men and woman, who wrote the Scriptures.

In this Eschatology site, I hope to discuss some of those opinions and how they became popular. I'd also like to discuss how they came about and how I can refute a few, using nothing but scripture.

I do, however, realize that not all of us are able to agree on every little point of church doctrine. I hope we will take everything to prayer and seek Him to show us where we may or may not have been led astray from His purposes and how finding the Truth will lead us not only into a deeper walk but also a new witness for others to see Him and desire to know Him.
I don't know how to witness. I'm always scared I'm going to offend someone...oh, God forbid! We can't be like that, but we have to allow the Spirit to be in control of it.
The other day, a neighbor and I were talking about "righteousness". She's a lady who openly brags about her drugs and alcohol, and on the flip side, talks about how she prays and trusts in the Lord. I usually just sit and listen to her with the "deer in the headlights" expression on my face. Finally she said, "Well, I'm not perfect".
That was my opening. I said..."I'm not perfect either, but I WANT IT!"
She didn't know what to say back.
Here's a woman who like so many others in our society today, knows the truth. She's heard the gospel. But she has been swept up in our cultural breakdown, like so many of us. Everybody does it. It's not illegal....this is the attitude. What is becoming illegal, in a lot of places, is speaking the very name of Jesus.

Paul and the other apostles spoke to a world that had never heard the name of Jesus, had never heard the gospel. Our situation is a bit different today. But the Word is the same, the Holy Spirit is the same.
We are in the last days, I truly believe The fields are white unto the harvest. And it could be, He has already begun the seperating the wheat from the chaff.

"Lord use me, and don't refuse me..." I love the words of that song.

p.s. Ditto, I love your poetry.

"but you will be witnesses unto Me, when the Holy Ghost has come upon you." Acts 1:8
Mableloretta,
The scripture I've just entered says it all. That's directly out of the King James Bible and, while the other versions seem to have it written differently, it's the original English Bible that I use here.
You see, Christ was telling His disciples to be witnesses of Him, in the way they spoke, lived, fellowshiped, etc. When we do that, we're obeying His command. Back, when I was a beginning Bible college student, I remember wondering if I would ever have the type testimony that so many others had. They would speak of how the Holy Spirit had brought them out of a lifestyle of drugs, alcohol, etc. into His glorious light. On the other hand, I was saved at the age of 12, before I every experienced any of the "big" problems, teenagers had, when I was older, so I thought a "worthwhile" testimony would never be mine to tell.

Let me tell you, He showed me that, although I was never in a gang, was never "hooked" on something or was never rebellious, I still had a testimony that would cause people to have to look down to see Heaven.
What I'm saying is, He showed me that, without the power of prayer, I wouldn't have lived past the age of ten.
Prayer is the key and it also lifts up the brokenhearted, heals the afflicted, etc.

So, as you pray for a witness, you will undoubtedly, find people, who see HIm, in you.
THAT, MY FRIEND, IS THE WITNESS THE HOLY SPIRIT CAME UPON YOU, TO GIVE.
Thank you. So with prayer, we let the Holy Spirit have his way. We can't worry about whether or not we have the right words to say, but rather let Him use what word we have, as well as how we live our lives.
Prayer AND, staying in the Word.
Remember, when the Parisees were saying Jesus' disciples were eating, without washing their hands, He said it's what comes out of the mouth, not what goes inside, that makes one impure.

If your heart is filled, with the Word, that's what will come out of your mouth.

Dear Lady you are a witness to me every time I hear your loving voice. Cindy

And you to me, dear sister. I thank our God He brought us together.
