I am interested in taking the Architectural Drafting course. I have AutoCAD LT 2009 for my CAD program. Is there any problem with my using that as my program, I dont want to have to buy another program and become familiar with it.

AutoCad Lite will be just fine. It has all the functions you need. Are you experienced in using it?

Yes, Ive used it for several years, tho only recently got the 2009 version. I was just thinking that 'you' would have to also have it, in order to view my dwgs wouldnt you?

The programs I use read native DWG files and also DXF. So when you submit them there is no problem reading them. The best way to submit your drawings though is by turning them into PDF files.
I'm jealous. I learned AutoCad about 19 years ago. Wish I had it!!!
I have never saved an AutoCAD drawing in PDF format, I thought you needed a special expensive program to do that. But I see (in Help) that my AutoCAD seems to indicate that I can. But I dont know if the LineWeights are created. I 'have' created Plot Files to send drawings via email to a blueprint store. I guess I can try to do it; do you know if I can? ***Can I ask you a question regarding the coursework? Ive started working on a floor plan of the house I live in. Can I work on that to use as my class project? or do I need to use the house you provide? My house looks 1-story from the front, but 2/3 of the downstairs is finished, and has a door to one end/side of the house.

It's changed over the years Tom. I started on ACAD 2.0 back in the 80's and man has it evolved.

I use PDF995 to build my PDF's Brian. All a PDF really is is a plot file that can be viewed on a computer with Acrobat reader.

You can try drawing your house with the lessons but rest assured you will have more questions than if you followed the prescribed layout I believe.
