Full Version: interior wall thickness?

I'm currently refining my drafts on the drafting board, or I guess I'll say separating them individual layers (such as electrical, interior dimensions, elevations, outside dimensions, etc.) I'm also using your CAD lessons for my drafting board like you said.

My questions are; excuse me if I'm wrong.

1. you stated in one of your lessons that the walls center line will account for our initial measurements, however our inside walls should be set 2" on each side of our center line wall measurement, right? except for the hallway AND perimeter walls, correct? which these will be set 4" on the inside. I noticed in lesson 2 that your 1/2 bath and household bath measurements are at 7-6 vertical and 4-0 vertical, which I think are off.

If you add up the wall thickness for all walls and both the rooms length you do come up with the 12'6", which is good. however, if we're supposed to set our walls in 4" ONLY on the hall and perimeter, the measurement should be 7'8" vertical for the household bath and 3'10" vertical for the 1/2 bath. Reason being is the wall dividing both bathroom should have a 2" offset on each side from the center line, correct? What you seem to have done is set the wall 4" on the inside of the household bath room.

Is this right? I mean the measurements add up, but I though all walls got an offset of 2" from center line EXCEPT the hall and perimeter.

I have seen this question and will have to answer it tomorrow when I get into the office. Sorry you've had to wait so long for a response. Been out of the office.
